Light-painting with tubes: white + orange sleeves

25 Nov 2016

One of the questions I've been asked to most is how to get more light inside the tube. There are a couple of easy options: sanding, scratching or painting the tube, adding backing paper, using a more powerful flashlight, etc. The way I do it is by using a white sleeve insert and a gel if I need color. These options are more expensive, but fits perfectly in the tube.  Sleeves are not required to create that kind of images, and the truth is that I prefer not using any (see last picture on that post). But the big advantage is that it allows to start doing light-painting earlier at night and thus getting a better background.
