About IPAF

Our festival has three main objectives: the preservation of Holbox Island and its natural and cultural heritage, traditions and the cherished lifestyle of its community. Added to this it will be a "Zero Waste" Art Festival meaning that we will try to minimize our waste footprint as much as possible and also we want to demonstrate we can create social awareness through art.

This year we will have international artists of the following disciplines: muralism, short film, public installation and multimedia.  All the art works created during the festival will have to promote the local vision of the inhabitants of Holbox Island, and they will have to be produced with recycled, biodegradable or minimum impact materials to fulfill our "Zero Waste" principle.

The original project "Soñando por Holbox" was created by local entrepreneur  Daniel Trigo.  Its original project gave rise to two art festivals on the island produced by different guests groups like Crad, Grupo Toldesa and 5 Wolves No Pigs among others since 2013. For the 2015 edition of the festival, Daniel Trigo invited for the second time Contemporary Artist Rubén Carrasco and the international artists´ collective "5 Wolves No Pigs" to organize a Public Art Festival.

After 3 years of evolution , the festival has established itself today with the name: IPAF "International Public Art Festival " - 2015 Holbox Edition
